If you are coming to Nijmegen to live here, be it few days or several months/years, it has a lot of accomodations to offer. There is shortage for accomodation in the public sector houses and the government has imposed several regulation on them.
Short Stay:
Unfortunately, there is only one hostel in Nijmegen Barbarossa (started in July 2013), but there are several hotels and Bed & Breakfasts available for short stay purposes for a wide range of budget. From about EUR 15.90 p.p. you can get a shared room (incl. breakfast) for a single night or 165 per week or EUR 360 for a whole month.For all the details see B&B Nijmegen.

Long Stay:
Nijmegen being an International city has several stuidos as well as normal apartments along with many student rooms,for rent. If you're a student you would've already in contact with SSHN for your student accomodation. This is exclusive for students studying in Nijmegen. The following section deals with the private housing agencies. You've to pay registration fee to join the site that are mentioned below (they are brockers) as well as upto 1 month rent as commission when you take something through them. This is one advantage when dealing directly with the landlords, which you can sometimes find in Marktplaats or other notice boards. You can also ask your Dutch collegues if they know of any landloards who has free space. Some of the B&B listed above also allows longterm stay, but you lack a kitchen in many cases. The following site www.Entree.nu is the organisation for public-sector housing in and around Nijmegen, since the waiting list is more than 7 years, most of you won't be able to make use of its services.
Direct Wonen is the biggest (and efficient even though expensive) agency for private housing. Please beware that there have been complaints about payments relating to thier automatic-account renewals. To see the available places in nijmegen go here. You have to keep in mind that most contracts are for 1 year and then for permanent, some might allow a contract less than 1 year.

There is another type of renting called temporary renting (Tijdelijk huur). You've less rights with this type of renting and is NOT advisable if you're looking for a long term rent.
