LORD God Almighty: The Holy One of Israel!

"Hear, O Israel! The LORD is our God, the LORD is one!" (Deut. 6:4)
For in Him dwells all the fullness of the Godhead bodily; ( Col 2:9)

The Oneness of is God defined as below:

Oneness:
\One"ness\, n. The state of being one; singleness in number; individuality; unity.

The Scriptures talks about One God LORD Almighty Who is the Creator of all. The statement of faith regarding God should be: We believe in one God, the HOLY ONE of Israel, who revealed to us in the Scripture as God the Father, who came into this world for the remission of our sins as Jesus Christ His Son and working among us in these latter days as the Holy Spirit.

I believe that the doctrine of Trinity is of human origin! What I want to say is that there is no "God the Son" and "God the Holy Spirit" as per Scriptures - ONLY God the Father! The other terms are misrepresentation of Scriptural terms the "Son of God" and the "Spirit of God" to fit human doctrines. Further God is God and not a person - Scripture tells that "God is Spirit"! (Jn 4:24) We should stick to the Scriptures. And all of these terms are "roles" or "titles" or "revelations" or "offices" by which God operates like "Saviour", "redeemer", "refuge" etc. For there is one God and one Mediator between God and men, the Man Christ Jesus, (1 Tim 2:5)

Beware lest anyone cheat you through philosophy and empty deceit, according to the tradition of men, according to the basic principles of the world, and not according to Christ. For in Him dwells all the fullness of the Godhead bodily; and you are complete in Him, who is the head of all principality and power. (Col 2:8-10) And again Rom 9:5 ....of whom are the fathers and from whom, according to the flesh, Christ came, who is over all, the eternally blessed God. Amen. shows that eternal God came in flesh as Christ.

God revealed to me about the truth of THE HOLY ONE by the following: There are 31 references to God as "The Holy One of Israel" If God was a trinity it would have mentioned as is, but never. If we compare Acts 2:38 and Mat 28:19 you will see that the "NAME of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit" is the NAME of Jesus Christ. It is at the council of Nicea (AD325) the creed was formed & later at the council of Constantinople (AD381) where the doctrine of trinity (three distinct co-eternal persons!) all sort of human doctrine was introduced later-on including changing the formula of Baptism. All through out the Book of Acts, apostles baptised in Jesus Name!! (Direct - Acts 2:38, 8:16, 10:48, 19:5; Indirect - Acts 22:16, 1 Cor 1:13, 1 Cor 6:11, Col 3:17). (Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, Mt 28:19 ; Then Peter said to them, "Repent, and let every one of you be baptized in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins; and you shall receive the gift of the Holy Spirit. Acts 2:38)

Jesus told this to Nicodemus: "No one has ascended to heaven but He who came down from heaven, that is, the Son of Man who is in heaven.F1 (John 3:13) F1: NU-Text omits who is in heaven. He was standing on earth telling that He is also in heaven at that time! Mind-boggling, isn't it?
And Jesus stated: "I and My Father are one." (JN 10:30) And who are we to say that they are not the same?

Maybe this story from the life of Augustine of Hippo will give more insight into the mystery of Godhead: One day St. Augustine was walking along the sea-shore, contemplating the trinity and trying to figure it out. While he was walking along, he noticed a little boy who had dug three holes in the sand. He then repeatedly took water from the ocean and placed it in the holes he had dug. As he was doing this, St. Augustine asked him, "what are you doing, son?" to which the young boy answered, "I am trying to fill the holes with the sea." On hearing that the saint said to him, "that is impossible! You can never empty the ocean into those holes." Then the boy replied, "It is easier for me to fit the ocean into these holes, than for you to fit the Infinite God into trinity." The boy, then disappeared, who was an angel in disguise. At once St. Augustine understood the message from God, and praised God for His Infinite Wisdom. (Another variation of the story says 1 hole instead of 3 holes).

To Conclude:
* We should not call God a person as He is a Spirit! (Jn 4:24)
* He revealed as the HOLY ONE, we should not redefine Him!
* Defining co-eternal, co-equal and then son out of father and spirit out of son doesn't work!
* Jesus Christ is the fullness of the Godhead in flesh (Col 2:9)
* Our understanding is limited to know the infinite God in full.
